Job Description:
The duties of a Team Leader Include:
-Prayer for ministry
-Lead a Young Life team by going before and/or beside teammates through weekly clubs, events, and meetings
-To motivate your Young Life team and to show strong leadership
-To encourage and build up teammates when necessary
-To communicate between staff and your team
-Plan and implement events and fundraisers
-Develop strategy and a plan to move in the direction of your team vision
Requirements and Qualifications:
Be a strong leader with good communication skills. Must be organized and work well in high-stress situations. To be faithful in following Jesus Christ so that you may be faithful in caring for the hearts of not only your team, but also your friends at SFA Middle School.
Benefits and Opportunities:
Through my position as Team Leader, I have benefitted greatly from a leadership perspective. I have been given the opportunity to step up and not only learn about, but also show others around me what being a good leader entails. I feel that through this position I have had the opportunity to be able to take SFA Wyldlife and run with it alongside my co-team leader. We have had the opportunity to try new things out- whether it is through a fundraiser that had not put on before, or even running weekly club in a completely different way than it had been in the past.
Another opportunity that I have been fortunate enough to have been given through my time as Team Leader of SFA Wyldlife is to have farther insight of what it could look like to go on staff with Young Life as a full-time position. Currently I am highly considering going on Young Life staff after graduating from Texas A&M University in May of 2019.
Achievements:
Through this internship, I would definitely say that my conflict resolution skills have had an opportunity to grow greatly. I have become far more organized and "on top of things" than before and I have learned how to handle high-stress situations with a level head and positive attitude. I have learned quite a bit more about the inner-workings of a Young Life team- how much really goes into the big picture of running a team and working alongside teammates.
